The Eiffel compiler is a core part of EiffelStudio. It relies on a unique Melting Ice Technology supporting both fast incremental recompilation and the generation of thoroughly optimized executables.

"Classic EiffelStudio" generates C as intermediate code. "Eiffel for .NET" generates .NET CIL (Common Intermediate Language, the .NET bytecode).
